WEB ASSISTANT POSITION
The Wasserman Center for Career Development at NYU is looking for a Web / Graphic Design Assistant to work 15-20 hours per week in our office, contributing to the design and maintenance of our office’s website as well as occasional work in producing graphics/images for our print publications. This is a student-worker position opening in our office, and we’re looking for a talented student with strong web and graphic design skills for the role.
DESCRIPTION:
This job deals with the design elements of the Wasserman Center website; Photoshop and Illustrator and Dreamweaver are used daily. Flash and CSS coding are used less frequently, but are a must. There are some dynamic elements to our site, so familiarity with javascript, or experience with database development (using ASP/PHP, SQL etc.) is a major plus.
The right candidate will be able to:
a) Take a handout or sketch and turn it into a web page or eye-catching printed material.
b) Create and Edit HTML/Javascript based web-forms and have them capture and display data stored in databases
c) Develop creative ways of making our site more dynamic, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge and familiarity with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and HTML coding, as well as some familiarity with CSS
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE
Flash is less frequently, but knowledge of is a plus. There are some dynamic elements to our site, so familiarity with javascript, or experience with database development (using ASP/PHP, SQL etc.) is a major plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:
– Must be a currently matriculated NYU Student
– FEDERAL WORK STUDY recipients preferred
– Strong knowledge of HTML / CSS
– Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
– Comfortable with Dreamweaver
– PHP/ASP coding experience desirable
– Must be familiar with Macs (specifically OS X) and PC operating systems
– Flash is a plus
– Flexible, detail oriented, able to work independently and in collaboration with others
