New York City based startup Back to One Technology is looking for their first software engineer to develop first version(s) of their initial products. This is an opportunity to work in the growing field of Entertainment Technology — an industry which is rapidly changing how feature films, television, live music, and theatrical productions are made. We are searching for an engineer with knowledge of new user interface paradigms, content creation, and the Apple development platforms to help jump start the early stages of development of our products. We have a big vision for what the industry will become and how our products will shape that future.
This is a hands-on role which will require the candidate to develop both user-facing features and core technologies. The ideal candidate will have experience leading the development of OSX and/or iOS applications, with a specific focus on delivering highly interactive user experiences. Familiarity with imaging technologies such as CoreAnimation, CoreData, Grand Central Dispatch, iCloud, and OpenGL are a strong plus. We are searching for someone who has a passion for developing exciting applications for the content creation user from the very first line of code through to version fifteen and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build the core software foundation and user facing experience for a new type of application
• Build the mobile sister application to take data/projects on the road
• Build in cross functionality with hardware, other software applications, and internet services
• Prototype and deliver unique solutions to challenging customer problems
• Set and maintain high standards for performance and quality our products are mission critical applications
• Set and maintain high standards for simplicity of interfaces and complexity of capability
• Maintain clean code which is well documented to facilitate rapid engineering team expansion
• Expand the team by seeking out new engineering talent
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Recent hands-on development with OSX/iOS in their most recent versions (or ideally, about-to-ship versions)
• Recent experience with Cocoa/Apple technologies and s such as CoreAnimation, CoreData, CoreImage, Grand Central Dispatch, iCloud, and OpenGL, in addition to their CocoaTouch derivatives
• Passion to lead the very beginning stages of ground-breaking application development
• Passion for filmmaking, television, live music, theater, visual storytelling, and image-making
• Strong communication skills, both to management and software team
• Bachelors degree or higher in computer science or a related field
