[JOB] Designers & Devs Interested in Information Consumption Problems, Skim.Me

Job Title: Designers & Devs Interested in Information Consumption Problems

Skim.Me is interested in connecting with developers & designers who are passionate about the future of digital information consumption.

If you’re interested in problems that have been labeled with terms like info overload, filter failure, overconsumption, and screen addiction, we’d like to meet you. If you try things that help with aggregation, news discovery, recommendations, filtering, and curation, we’d like to meet you. If you use services and hacks to increase productivity or shield you from online distractions, we’d like to meet you. If you’re interested in psychological drivers like fear of missing out or social media anxiety, we’d like to meet you.

Enough about you, what about us?

Our mission is to help people keep up with digital info in a less overwhelming and less addictive way. We’re a designer, chief architect, data scientist, two developers, and utility player. We’ve released a prototype to 150 of the ~2000 users on our invite list and are currently making a lot of changes before the next release. The First Growth Venture Network accelerator that has produced venture-backed companies like Birchbox, Skillshare, and Venmo just accepted us into their next batch. We work out of the Varick Street Incubator and also remotely a couple days a week. To date, we’ve raised $ from friends & family and will be raising an angel/seed round in the future.

What’s In It for You (other than $, equity, and food):

A startup experience with a purpose
Autonomy to tinker and test
Shape something that will improve lives
Work on things you want to get better at

Who We’re Looking for:

Someone we can trust
You are not a flake
You figure things out and get things done
You communicate effectively
You’ve built stuff using a majority of the following: HTML5, CSS3, PHP, jQuery or MySQL
