CALL FOR PROPOSALS
DEADLINE FOR PROPOSALS

Wasted Spaces is inviting artists to propose works for their File Gallery.
A vintage filing cabinet is transformed into a multi-roomed gallery with
each drawer becoming unique space for small, but perfectly formed artworks.
The ongoing project is housed within The Yard, Brooklyn and provides an
opportunity for artist to create site specific work in a new way and for a
new audience. Each participating artists makes work for the 5 drawers of
the vintage filing cabinet to form a miniature solo show. The work rewards
curiosity by revealing an intimate artwork in every drawer opened.
Participating artists will receive a opening reception at The Yard, Brooklyn
and will be showcased through the extensive networks of The Yard and Wasted
Spaces.
ABOUT WASTED SPACES
Wasted Spaces is an arts organization which specializes in creative
curation. Our mission is to bring quality art to new places and people.
The collective was set up to provide a platform for up and coming artists,
and to engage with communities through site-specific installations. By
creating art that is both accessible and of high quality these projects
provide a gateway for people who have traditionally felt suspicious or
excluded from modern art.
We believe art should be an inspirational moment of everyday life.

The Yard currently has 260 members and 80+ companies working in tech,
digital and creative fields.

than a single page document
outlining the following:
• Title of work
• Materials used
• Artists Statement
Any incomplete proposals will not be
considered. Wasted spaces will only
contact successful applicants.
