Position Summary

Under direction from the Content Services Manager and the Associate Director of Web Communications, the Web Producer will work collaboratively with a team of UX, UI, and Development professionals to design, develop, and enhance a continuously evolving network of websites with concentrated efforts on implementation, continued evolution, and improvement of websites built on the Drupal platform. These websites are the public, digital face of our institution and support the patient care, research, and educational mission.

Position Activities

• Collaborates with web designers and web developers to build high-quality, standards-compliant web pages and experiences in HTML5, PHP, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Assists in training colleagues and end-users in aspects of Drupal usage.
• Analyzes project requirements and proposes solutions utilizing standardized design methodologies. Creates design documents, mock-ups and proof of concept systems as necessary.
• Stays relevant to emerging trends in subject areas related to content management, online channel optimization, and the Drupal platform. Attends relevant training conferences and forums for increased knowledge base.
• Provides input and critique to the group on design and technical issues, concepts, and mockups to help advance the shared web vision for all clients.
• Executes technical and business objectives for the institution’s web properties. Works with stakeholders and clients to execute online business requirements.
• Produces and maintains comprehensive, usable documentation per project, including requirements, design, implementation, deployment, testing and maintenance.
• Designs and implements websites in Drupal to meet client functional and content management needs, while adhering to best practices and maximizing leverage of Drupal’s features and extensibility.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.
• 4+ years of experience implementing sites in Drupal. Have a proven track record of working on Drupal sites, modules, and themes.
• Experience debugging and testing code for usability, security, accessibility and browser compatibility (IE7, Chrome, Safari, Firefox).
• Have knowledge of Drupal-adjunct technologies such as the LAMP platform, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery (or similar JavaScript libraries).
• Demonstrates experience developing websites and web applications including strong design sense; ability to adapt to different design styles and adhere to a brand; extensive practical experience and strong skills in information architecture and usability.
• Experience in interaction-design methodologies, including documenting user flows, creating information architectures and wireframes, and presenting design ideas to a clients and team members.
• Experience designing and coding pages (including HTML and CSS) that are cross-platform and cross-browser compatible.
• Basic JavaScript coding skills.
• Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
• Strong communication skills; able to work with designers, programmers, management, and clients.

Highly Desired Requirements

• Familiarity with PHP and web application programming concepts.
• Expert JavaScript coding skills, particularly using JQuery.
• Experience with mobile device interaction design and optimizing web platforms to take advantage of mobile device integration.
• Active involvement and familiarity with the global web development community
• Familiarity with SVN and/or Git, and basic Drupal module development principles.
• Familiarity with Drupal environment management and related solutions (e.g. Drush).
• Experience implementing a multi-site Drupal architecture.
• Experience working with a Drupal PaaS provider, such as Pantheon or Acquia.
