About the Job

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Marketing Associate to join Gorkana’s US Marketing and Communications team, based in New York City.

Gorkana brings together PR/communications professionals and media representatives and ensures clients have access to highly accurate media data and analysis through its media database, daily alerts, Rapid Response Team, exclusive events, job board, and PR/social media measurement and analysis, which are used by organizations across the US, UK and Europe.

The role

This is a key role with responsibility for executing the US marketing and communication strategy, helping to support the company’s revenue and growth. Reporting to the Head of US Marketing and Communications, the role requires someone with a blend of strategic, digital, and creative marketing/communication skills who can:

  • Apply marketing and communication principles to engage key stakeholders online and at events
  • Create, implement, and measure campaigns that take into account user experiences and client needs
  • Manage multiple projects and competing deadlines; liaise with sales, customer service, and product development departments; and connect with senior executives in a concentrated drive for business results


You are a results-driven and detail-oriented person, eager to grow and apply your marketing and communication skills including visual content development, copywriting for print and web, email marketing, database management, and event planning. You must have experience in producing visual and written content for print, web, video, and other multimedia solutions.


In addition you will possess analytical skills with an ability to evaluate results and use findings to contribute to business objectives. You will be a creative individual and will be able to showcase examples of previous ideas, campaigns, writing, and artwork that you have created and/or managed. An understanding of customer acquisition and database management strategies and experience in event planning, networking, and onsite brand engagement are also desirable.


You will have 1-3 years professional experience; a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, journalism or a related field; excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong project management skills; and good PC skills including MS Office. Experience with Salesforce, website CMS, email service providers, SEO, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, social media, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or HTML is a plus.
