Graphic + Interaction Designer
Openbox, a design consultancy and impact investment firm, is seeking a graphic and interaction designer to work with us on a project basis. The right candidate will have solid experience in translating data and stories into a creative visual language and environment along with a thorough grounding in the principles of interaction design and prototyping.
Key Qualities
• You have an intellectually curious, user-centered approach to design that is grounded in how people respond to real-world problems.
• You have created visually stunning, story-based graphics for a wide range of brands and businesses.
• You are feel comfortable throughout all phases of a project, from translating verbal ideas into visual concepts, through design development and refinement, to creating productionready artwork.
• You can prototype in different mediums: from quick sketches on a post-it to representing online environments.
• You have strong verbal, written, and visual presentation skills. You know how to craft the story of your design to make it relevant to any audience.
• You enjoy working in a participatory, team-based environment.
Tools
• Proficiency in design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Flash, etc.
• Working knowledge of prototyping tools (e.g. HTML/CSS & Javascript, Flash, AfterEffects, IOS, Keynote)
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor of Arts degree (or equivalent) in design or user experience.
• 3-5 years professional experience in graphic design.
• 1-3 years professional experience in interaction design
Compensation
