[JOB] WordPress Developer, the Wirecutter (Gadget Guide; ex-Gizmodo Ed.)

Contact: John Mahoney <johnjmahoney@gmail.com>

The Wirecutter (a guide to the best gadgets to buy founded and run by ex-Gizmodo editor Brian Lam) is hiring a WordPress developer to help us maintain some front-end and most of the back-end maintenance on the codebase that powers both The Wirecutter and The Sweethome. We’re looking for a part-time commitment (30-40 hours per month) from someone who’s interested in joining our small, tight-knit team to help us grow smartly and efficiently from a technology standpoint. You’ll work with our tech & design lead on regular maintenance, as well as the planning and building of new site features and emergency bug fixing if necessary.
Requirements: We’re looking for someone fluent in WordPress best-practices, with deep working knowledge of PHP, JavaScript and CSS. You should know your way around Github, too, where we maintain our code. Experience developing your own publicly available WordPress plugins and themes is a huge plus.
