Part-time Studio Assistant to help prepare performance / installation piece.

Artist’s studio in Dumbo, Brooklyn seeking one or two studio assistants/interns to work on an installation commissioned by Ballroom Marfa and the Rauschenberg Foundation for a show October. This is a fun project that will receive exposure and will be a great hands-on work experience for an artist, designer, or architectural student. The installation is concerned with several topics, including climate change, food, and perception.
RESPONSIBILITIES (may be split between two interns):
* Build out parts of the installation
* Work with artist to develop project website and related digital media
* Research packaging and signage materials and vendors
* Manage printing process
* Help organize supplies and personnel
* On-site support during several performance dates in October
REQUIREMENTS:
* BFA or MFA (student working for credit is OK) in arts, design, architecture
* Basic carpentry skills
* Candidates should have a penchant for detail and have the ability to bring absolute clarity to complex tasks
* Strong sense of consistency, precision, and organization
* Be up to date with NY contemporary art scene
COMMITMENT:
Average 2 days a week (will vary somewhat based on project needs).
Now – October 30.
