KPCB Design Fellows Program Details

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (www.kpcb.com), a world-leading venture capital firm located in Silicon Valley, has just opened applications for the KPCB Design Fellows Program and we’d like to share this opportunity with you.

The Fellows Program pairs bright students across the country with innovative startup companies located in Silicon Valley, beginning with the summer of 2014.  The goal of the Fellows Program is for students to gain significant experience working on some of the most unique and challenging design problems, and to develop new and meaningful relationships.

Over the course of the summer, Design Fellows will develop their design abilities through paid employment and mentorship by design executives within a startup company. In addition, the Design Fellows will also spend time with KPCB’s Design Council – Zach Klein, DIY; Sahil Lavingia, Gumroad; Elle Luna, Mailbox; Gentry Underwood, Mailbox; Marcos Weskamp, Flipboard; Wesley Yun, Samsung; Matt Beebe, Tylr Mobile; and John Maeda, Design Partner at KPCB.

To complement the design work experience, Design Fellows will also be invited to exclusive events hosted by KPCB-funded companies, where they can meet other talented designers, network with design luminaries, and explore the San Francisco Bay Area. To ensure that Design Fellows have the best possible experience during the summer, the program will accept only a limited number of top applicants.

The application period for the summer 2013 KPCB Design Fellows Program opened on January 7, 2014. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 pm PDT on February 7, 2014.
