Red Sea Ventures is a NY-based seed stage venture capital fund. We help our founders with product, go-to-market, biz dev, financing, legal, M&A and other strategic advice.
Who we are looking for:
• 1-2 years of investment banking or consulting;
• 1-2 years experience at a NY-based, venture backed startup or major tech company (programming or design experience a major plus);
• Familiarity with standard venture terms and concepts;
• Proven ability to identify opportunities in the media and technology landscape;
• Awareness of present state and future trends in all markets of focus;
• Understanding of what to look for in a great founder, product and business;
• Ability to operate in both structured and highly unstructured environments;
• A hustler or hacker who works smart applying novel approaches to problem solving; • Self starting, extremely ambitious, ready to make a mark; and
Responsibilities·
• Frequent evaluation of new investment opportunities;
• Assist with recurring / ad hoc reporting and financial modeling;
• Support diligence and close of new transactions (end-to-end);
• Help define and execute on systems/process;
• Active participation in the New York startup community, frequent attendance of events, panels, discussions. You must become a pillar in the ecosystem if you are not already; and
• Support investment team in analysis, thematic research and knowledge acquisition.
