Campus Description: Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is located 60 miles from New York City on Long Island’s scenic North Shore. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in hand or equivalent experience. Research and teaching that critically engage and employ digital technologies. Portfolio of digital humanities projects that blend theoretical and critical perspectives with use of digital tools.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in research and teaching collaborations. Experience in developing grants and funded projects.

We seek applicants able to contribute to Stony Brook’s thriving interdisciplinary environment, whose research and teaching exemplify how contemporary scholars and teachers can critically engage and employ digital technologies. Competitive candidates should have a portfolio of digital humanities projects that blend theoretical and critical perspectives with use of such digital tools and methods as text mining and analysis, data visualization, and digital culture analysisSpecial attention will be given to candidates with experience in research and teaching collaborations in the humanities and in developing grants and funded projects. 

The Assistant or Associate Professor will be responsible for undergraduate and graduate teaching, standard non­teaching duties.

Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated start date: Fall 2014. **Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
