[CALL] Art + Technology Lab 2015 Call for Artist Proposals

The Art + Technology Lab at LACMA is pleased to issue its second
year request for proposals.

The application and guidelines for funding can be found here.

The required structure of submissions includes a short description of the proposed project, an implementation
timeline and budget, and a short narrative describing the relevance of the project and any opportunities for
public engagement.

Applicants should thoroughly read the new RFP. Changes have been made from last year’s call, and they include:

  • We have revised and refined our areas of interest to reflect a preference for ideas over specific technologies
and to indicate that we are open to working with artists who have no prior technological experience.
  • Applicants will also note the refined language in our evaluation criteria.
  • The submission deadline is extended to 11:59 pm, on Monday, February 16, 2015, allowing applicants up to
nine weeks to prepare their proposal.
  • We have amended the submission process with an application portal where applicants are required to
complete a form and attach their proposal.

The Lab’s first-year artist projects are now well into development, and may serve as a useful reference for those
interested in applying for a grant. We encourage applicants to learn about current projects on our webpage and blog.

Additional information is available via our FAQ document. Questions may be directed to lab@lacma.org.

Thank you so much your interest in the Art + Technology Lab artist grant program. Please help spread the word
by sharing the call for proposals with artists and collectives with an interest in developing projects using
emerging technology.

The Art + Technology Lab and its artist projects are made possible by Accenture, DAQRI, and NVIDIA, with additional support
from Gensler, Google, and SpaceX.
