POSITION SUMMARY:

Interactive One is the premiere media network of brands targeting “The New Urban” – the most diverse, trend-setting, conversation audience ever.   Our over 70 brands include HelloBeautiful.com, TheUrbanDaily.com, and our platform also serves Studios network brands such as GlobalGrind.com and Voxxi.com, in addition to 50 or so local brands associated with a network of radio stations in 16 markets.

The Products & Studios team manages all creative design, UX, development, and operations using Automattic’s WordPress VIP, and are an active part of the WordPress “Big Media” milieu in New York, often attending and presenting at meetups, WordCamps, and other New York media & technology events.

The successful Product Fellow will become a close-knit part of the team and help us deliver more and better innovations, and to help measure, optimize, and gain the best from the solutions we offer.

 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Feature ideation & development
  • Front end development & code analysis
  • User Research & User Testing
  • Analytics using Omniture, Google Analytics, Chartbeat, other suites
  • Market Scanning & Partner Development
  • Publisher Support
  • Video Experience Development & Support using thePlatform MPX
  • Email Acquisition using Sailthru
  • Social Media acquisition via Facebook
  • Facebook & YouTube brand page creation, publishing & optimization

 

Critical Competencies & Experience Required:

  • Current student
  • Entrepreneurial, can-do spirit
  • Reliability and professionalism
  • Team collaborator
  • Familiarity with HTML syntax, CSS & front end coding experience
  • Experience with mobile apps and mobile optimization
  • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite or similar
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics & if possible, Adobe SiteCatalyst (Omniture) as well.
  • Good communication and professional skills
  • Knowledge of web and mobile design
  • Currency and awareness with what’s going on in the digital media landscape
  • Ability to use Analytics suites (Google Analytics, Omniture, Flurry, Chartbeat, etc) to spot issues and opportunities, and proactively measure partner performance
  • Familiarity with multiple mobile devices across iOS, & Android smartphones and tablets, and how publishers are vying for position across these emergent competitive platforms

 

EDUCATION:     BA or MA (in progress) with concentration in Multimedia, Design, Development or related field
