[JOB] Web Developer, HIAS

WEB DEVELOPER

HIAS is seeking a Web Developer to assist in the ongoing development and maintenance of the HIAS website and work closely with the Communications team, program stakeholders and staff to provide technical and design solutions to help promote HIAS’ programming and best serve HIAS.org’s audiences.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting in the daily maintenance of HIAS.org including, but is not limited to, CMS site configurations, module updates, bug fixes, and front-end development
  • Assist in the development, implementation and testing of new features for HIAS.org
  • Assist in training HIAS staff in web publishing using the Drupal CMS and other web publishing tools
  • Assist in the use and administration of HIAS’ Luminate CRM system
  • Working with the communications team and other staff to, help develop web strategy for specific programs, communications campaigns and events
  • Prepare photo, graphic and video content for web publishing
  • Bring commitment and integrity to accomplishing HIAS’ mission and goals in this and other duties as assigned and commits to personal and professional implementation of HIAS’ Core values

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong front-end web development skills (HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript)  required
  • Strong awareness and understanding of information architecture, user experience and current website design best practices for both desktop and mobile required
  • Experience with Drupal web publishing systems strongly preferred
  • Experience with graphic design, and editing and preparing video for the web (Photoshop, Illustrator) strongly preferred
  • Experience with web publishing systems and template programming (PHP, MySQL, XML, JavaScript, JSON) preferred
  • Experience with Luminate or similar CRM system preferred
  • Solid planning and organizational skills, including the ability to estimate scope of assignments and deliver projects on time
  • Very good interpersonal skills; flexibility and demonstrated ability to work interdepartmentally in a mid/large organization
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Skillful in identifying internal clients’ needs and expectations; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience with web analytics (Google Analytics)
  • Familiarity with version control (Subversion, Git)

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field preferred

Experience:
Four to six (4-6) years’ experience in web development

Operational:
Full status to work in the United States and willingness to provide employment verification as required
