New Media Exhibit Developers
Regular, Full-Time Position
The Exploratorium’s New Media Developer group (NMD) uses established and emerging technologies to conceptualize, prototype, and implement robust interactive exhibits for the Exploratorium’s museum floor as well as for partner museums around the world. The NMD manager is responsible for his or her own exhibit development projects as well as the supervision and leadership of the New Media exhibit development staff, maximizing the group’s creativity, functionality and productivity. The manager will facilitate staffing assignments, set expectations, and evaluate performance of this group. This position will guide the conception, design, and development of New Media interactive exhibits as well as contribute to current exhibitions, new proposals, and strategic thinking around the use of technology across the museum. This position reports to the Director of Exhibit Development and will work closely with peer Developer, Engineering, Web, Video, and IT department managers to provide a consistently high-quality product which sustains and enhances the Exploratorium’s role as an innovative leader in science, arts, and education.
