BACKGROUND
Rap Research Lab (RRL) is a youth program that teaches art & design, cultural analysis, data mining, and data visualization to teens using a design process and project-based curriculum that visualizes hip-hop as a cultural indicator.

Students learn how to use a number of tools, including the Rap Almanac, a searchable database built from the lyrics of over 50,000 hip-hop songs from 1979 to present day, which generates textual and quantified reports on searched words, phrases and ideas.
