Position: Digital Acquisitions Intern
Description:
Cooper Hewitt is beginning to undertake fact-finding and strategic planning around the acquisition of born-digital work. The museum seeks an intern to assist the curators overseeing the project. The intern will work one to two days each week and will be responsible for assisting the curators with research, correspondence, and project organization. The internship is unpaid, but course credit is available.
Learning Objectives:
  • The intern will gain knowledge about planning and developing collection strategies in a museum.
  • The intern will learn about the leading thinkers, designers, and practitioners in the field of digital acquisitions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Intern must have an interest and knowledge in the history and current state of digital and emerging media and technology; strong research skills and attention to detail; and must be able take direction well.
