DESIGN INTERN (Spring 2016)
Toca Boca’s Brooklyn based team is designing and developing a brand new video on demand service called Toca TV, specially designed for kids aged 59. Toca TV will include an amazing and fun video player, along with curated and original content. Our goal is to deliver the best mobile video experience for kids. EVER.
The Toca TV team has an ambitious goal and a small team, so you’ll have a big role, with plenty of responsibility. We are looking for someone who is willing to take initiative, be flexible, and help out in many aspects of design and production.
Some of the things you might get to do:
● Develop working prototypes to test different UX/UI elements (most of this work will be creative coding, but it could also be using some prototyping software).
● Create designs within Unity
● Create fun title cards for animated videos
● Design thumbnails for videos that kids love
● Create storyboards for original story concepts
● Assist in running play studies and analyzing the data
REQUIREMENTS:
● Current student or recent graduate
● Be local to NYC and available 1520 hours (2 2.5 days) per week
● Bring personal computer to work in our Dumbo office
● Organized and detail oriented
● You love and truly believe in the value of play
BONUS:
● You love and have experience working with kids and/or in kids media
● You have a variety of skills and like wearing a number of different hats designer, coder, editor, researcher
● Experience in Processing, HTML CSS, Javascript, or P5JS or Unity.
