JOB: Open Freelance Position at the Guardian

I’m looking to hire a front-end developer/designer/interactive artist for a project we have available at The Guardian in my department, Guardian Labs. This is a freelance position for a 4-5 month long project. Depending on the developer’s skill level, this could be either full time for someone more junior or part time for a skilled, fast developer. The pay is competitive and, as our department is rapidly expanding, this has the potential to turn into a full time position.
Description of responsibilities below:

We’re looking for a freelance interactive designer for a potential 4 and a half month job starting in February here at The Guardian for my department in Guardian Labs. The project will be heavy on animation and must perform responsive across all devices, so HTML5, jQuery, and Javascript animation knowledge is a must. We have an internal design team to help with graphics, and this position will focus on animation and the interactive build, but experience in graphics creation is a huge plus. The pay is very competitive and it’s a great chance for an experienced developer to create a unique body of work that showcases strong interactive narrative storytelling.
