Seeks a dynamic and well-rounded Marketing Manager
Behold! New Lebanon (www.beholdnewlebanon.org) is a start up non-profit
dedicated to modeling a new way to revive small rural towns while pushing the
boundaries of the role of the museum in society. Unlike traditional museums,
Behold! New Lebanon invites participants to experience and celebrate rural life in
rural time through real people. Behold! programs take place in the farms, fields,
workshops, studios, kitchens and stores of the diverse residents who call New
Lebanon –in New York’s historic Columbia County – home. Each intimate
Behold! program invites participants to learn about community, commerce and
family life in rural America; truly an immersive, educational experience for people
of all ages to Behold.
During its 2016 season (May-October) – its second year of operation – its staff will
consist of a President, Vice President, Executive Director, Program Director and
40 Rural Guides who will deliver over 60 programs to visitors.
OVERVIEW:
The Marketing Manager will be a key member of the Behold! staff, responsible for developing
and managing the Museum’s email and paid and natural search campaigns. The Marketing
Manager will also assist with social media, display advertising, mobile marketing, alternative
media, traditional advertising and other marketing initiatives.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop production schedules for marketing campaigns and collateral, including paid
advertising efforts across digital and traditional vehicles.
Develop and manage email marketing campaigns and programs, including image and
content production.
Develop and optimize paid search campaigns, using Google Adwords and related tools.
Perform basic analysis, using tools and platforms related to email, search and web
analytics. Outputs include reports to be shared with key constituents and
recommendations for testing and optimization.
Contribute to natural search efforts, including website development.
Produce or assist in production of marketing collateral and web content, using Adobe
Creative Suite or similar tools.
Evaluate social media opportunities and develop plans as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
2 or more years of marketing experience, with a strong focus on digital marketing
preferred.
Experience with email marketing operations, platforms, and technology (including
HTML).
Experience with paid search (SEM) and Google AdWords, and natural search (SEO) and
web design (UI and UX).
Familiarity with traditional advertising, such as print, radio, etc.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel for quantitative analysis, and Word and
PowerPoint for communication.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities, and to do so independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic and creative instinct (design and creative and/or copywriting experience a plus)
