Senior Lab Tech

We are looking for a Senior Lab Tech to work as part of a large cross-disciplinary team supporting the development of innovative technical designs for public places. The ESI lab is used both as a design resource and a client-facing demonstration space requiring a lab manager that has a keen sense of organization and presentation. The Senior Lab Tech will be based out of the ESI Lab and will be responsible for building and managing small and large scale proof-of-concepts and mockups, researching emerging technologies and keeping our internal technical resources updated. We are looking for a person that is flexible and can work with new technologies as well as find new applications for existing technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining and organizing the ESI’s Lab space and inventories
• Building, installing and running proof-of-concepts, mockups and play-testing in our LAB space and off-site
• Prototyping and testing of new technologies, applications and systems
• Coordinating with internal team (designers, project/production managers) to plan, execute and track all the mockup efforts and lab usage
• Coordinating with consultants and technology producers to support and manage various mockup needs
• Updating the internal ESI technology resources and tools
• Work with designers, engineers, and customers to create technology solutions

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of audio visual control systems, hardware and software
• Great handling and managing of AV hardware and systems
• Highly organized and self-driven, with the ability to manage time well and work efficiently without close supervision
• Careful attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• Collaborative
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and systems design schematics
• Experience in creating digital/physical experiences
• A degree specializing in interactive Technologies, Audio Visual Design, Entertainment Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
