State of Place (my company) recently got some great news – we were awarded a $150k Small Business Innovation and Research grant from the NSF! Over the next six months, we are finally going to get the chance to built out an MVP of our software for State of Place (a forecasting and scenario analysis tool for walkability and economic development). We are incredibly excited and honored. We originally had gotten quotes from a service designer (UI/UX) person as well from a development firm that creates software MVPs for startups. However, upon revisiting our scope and integrating learnings we accrued in the six months since applying for the grant, we have decided to hire an individual for UI only and hire another individual to do the back-end programming rather than a full-service third party firm. To that end, I was hoping that you might be willing to announce this opportunity to your students and/or network and/or if you might specifically know of some qualified candidates for either of these two positions – in particular, we are in dire need of the a back-end programmer, whom we ideally would keep on after the end of the grant.
Applicants can find a more detailed job description and specs on our Angelist page:

Thanks so much for your help!
Best,
Mariela
