JOB: 92nd Street Y – Careers -Instructor – Lego Robotics – immediate hire

92Y is seeking experienced design, technology and coding educators to lead the following after school classes:

• Lego Robotics WeDo / Ages 7-12
  • Mondays, starts Feb 1, 3:45 – 5:45 PM, 15 Sessions

• Lego Robotics Mindstorm / Ages 7-12
  • Fridays, starts Jan 29, 3:45 – 5:45 PM, 16 Sessions

• Enhance and implement 92Y’s design, technology, and coding course offerings for youth.
• Foster a creative, supportive, enjoyable, and safe environment for the students while introducing them to the basic principles and materials of design.
• Write developmentally appropriate, integrated curricula and lessons about design concepts, problem-solving, and career awareness.
• Model problem solving and collaborative skills for students.
• Report on student progress to parents and department head.

• BA/BFA, in art, design, architecture, engineering, or education.
• Two+ years experience teaching design, technology, or coding to youth.
• Working knowledge of the design or engineering career field.
• Knowledge of developing and implementing lesson plans guided by a curriculum and ability to assess student work.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills.
