Position Summary:
92Y is seeking experienced design, technology and coding educators to lead the following after school classes:
- Lego Robotics WeDo / Ages 7-12
- Mondays, starts Feb 1, 3:45 – 5:45 PM, 15 Sessions
- Lego Robotics Mindstorm / Ages 7-12
- Fridays, starts Jan 29, 3:45 – 5:45 PM, 16 Sessions
Essential Functions:
- Enhance and implement 92Y’s design, technology, and coding course offerings for youth.
- Foster a creative, supportive, enjoyable, and safe environment for the students while introducing them to the basic principles and materials of design.
- Write developmentally appropriate, integrated curricula and lessons about design concepts, problem-solving, and career awareness.
- Model problem solving and collaborative skills for students.
- Report on student progress to parents and department head.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- BA/BFA, in art, design, architecture, engineering, or education.
- Two+ years experience teaching design, technology, or coding to youth.
- Working knowledge of the design or engineering career field.
- Knowledge of developing and implementing lesson plans guided by a curriculum and ability to assess student work.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and organizational skills.
