The Institute for the Interdisciplinary Study of Decision at NYU is seeking to fill a work study position (15-
20 hours/week) with a student who can assist with the management and curation of our websites. The
ideal candidate will have none to some office administration experience and sufficient experience in
web design and coding. Some experience with graphic design is also preferred.
Key Duties and Job Responsibilities:
The position will work closely with IISDM’s Communications Associate to ensure timely site updates and
have the ability to make minor and major site changes as needed. The successful candidate will also be
responsible for soliciting and coordinating web updates from members of the Institute and other senior
Institute leadership. The successful candidate will preferably have graphic design skills to help create
graphics for the websites and other public dissemination materials, though this is not required.
Responsibilities Include:
Managing two websites, including content, appearance, and capabilities
Making major structural changes to the website
Serving as liaison for the Public Relations Officer for web-related internal and external inquiries
Creating banners, images, and other graphical content (preferred)
Here are the requirements:
Required:
-Experience with WordPress
-Familiarity with HMTL and CSS coding
-Experience with designing and managing websites (please provide URLs or mock-ups of sites you have
designed)
-Familiarity with web preparation of media (e.g. optimizing images and video)
-A student who is punctual, organized, proactive, and reliable with attention to detail.
Preferred:
-Experience with graphic design and the creation of original graphical content like banners and other
signage
-Experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
-If you have graphical design skills, please submit at least two examples of your creation
