Flux Factory invites artists, performers, and researchers to submit work for our upcoming exhibition We Have Always Lived in the Future. This exhibition examines the presence of marginalized groups within Silicon Valley and its prevailing visions of future technologies. We are looking for works that address these representations—or lack thereof—in areas including but not limited to: accessibility, virtual reality, surveillance, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
As part of the exhibition, we will host a series called Silicon Flux where we will have a panel discussion for each of the following topics as it relates to the exhibition’s theme: disability and accessibility, virtual reality, wearables, and environment. Proposals for additional topics are welcome.
Creative practitioners who wish to only participate in Silicon Flux are welcome to apply. Work for the exhibition can be in any medium. The open call closes February 15th, and the exhibition will be on view from March 24th until April 22nd. Submission guidelines are listed here. If you have questions, please email the curators at thefuture@fluxfactory.org.
