The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is currently recruiting for an internship available in the Graphic Design department for the 2017 fall semester (mid-September through mid-December). Guggenheim internships are available for-credit, though are also open to students and recent graduates not receiving academic credit but who wish to pursue practical training in a museum environment.
Graphic Design
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is currently accepting applications for an internship in the Graphic Design department for fall 2017. Interns in this department would help with the design of exhibition graphics, printed material, and digital campaigns.
Graphic design is an integral part of the image of the museum. The Graphic Design department is responsible for the design and installation of the museum’s building and exhibition signage, as well as the design and production of various printed materials, including exhibition-related ephemera (e.g., invitations, educational guides, and direct mail), informational brochures, and publications for all museum departments.
Ideal candidates are Graphic Design majors or those who have taken numerous graphic design courses. Knowledge of typography and the Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, is also essential.
Additionally, we are pleased to announce that we will be offering $500 stipends to all undergraduate-level students and $1,000 stipends to all graduate-level students who are accepted into the Fall 2017 Program!
Please send a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and design portfolio via email to internships@guggenheim.org by Friday, July 31st.
