My name is Swoo K. Suh and I work at SookMyung Women’s University in Korea in Environmental Design Dept. This year I am enjoying my sabbatical leave from SMU and staying at Princess Noura University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia as a visiting professor. I had this project developing PNU’s College of Art and Design curriculum, especially in their Foundation Year program. And so I am doing some recruitment on their behalf this year.

They are almost a new school and very much lack in teachers who have been trained academically and professionally in the field of art and design. Especially they are in need of Product Design, Interior, Graphic, and Fashion Design as well as in Fine Arts.
They are currently have these five majors existing but they want to expand more. At this moment, I am seeking lecturers who are in the majors mentioned above but if you can maybe help on finding lecturer who can teach the first year and really inspire students with various skills, ideas, and creative problem solving skills, etc. At the moment, there are almost none who can teach the first year properly. The reason being, when the college was first opened, the teachers were brought in from Home Economics and from Art Education more or less as Saudi Arabia in general did not have much art, music or dance type of culture. But, it is rapidly moving and the Saudi Vision 2030 talks a lot about future with art, culture and entertainment, etc.
PNU having only college combining fine art and design together, they are trying hard to make it really the best not only in Saudi but also in the gulf region and over the world. Facility was needs some help as it was built so beautifully but they don’t have the technicians either so they are on hold in putting the fabrication shops and things. So, if anyone who is passionate in teaching and willing to challenge herself from ground zero of art college.

-PhD degree holder preferred
-Master Degree can apply if the candidate has 5 years of experience including teaching experience and if she published 3 or more articles.
_Part timer, Full timer they ask all acceptable. They can suggested when they can move into PNU.
-Female teachers only…the entire campus is only women.
This is basically what I can explain now. If anyone interested in teaching, they will be provided with salary, housing, university hospital insurance, and round trip airfare and things. Once we have candidates, the conditions can be negotiable.
