Summary:

Summary:
- You’ll be their User Research hire #1 and head up the whole department, and collaborate with their super friendly design team of 8
- First order of business = set up the entire research practice: centralize and organize what they have, plan out how research will be conducted, evangelize and collaborate company-wide on all things Research
- Not a management role to start but some mentoring / mgmt experience is great, as you’ll hire another Researcher in 2018
- You can “speak Dev” and understand and relate to a techie user base
- Startup experience preferred; Tech, Finance, Insurance, Healthcare bkgd helpful.

Summary:
- Would be Research hire #2, working side by side with Head/Research to develop and grow the department
- Prefer candidates who have both agency-side and client-side experience, working with Product + Service Design, beyond the digital screen
- Must be great with clients, and “own the room”. Must be able to question and identify the actual problems that need to be solved, not just what clients come to the table with
- Conceptual, good storyteller, can spin a narrative, use metaphors, get buy-in across departments
- Prefer one of these types of profiles:
- “PhD dropout” – academic background in cog sci, anthropology, sociology – who has demonstrable experience putting theory into actionable, useful practice
- Researcher with a Design background, preferably in an agency setting, who’s been focused in UX Research for 5+ years minimum
- Experience working with F500 clients, especially in Finance, Healthcare, Education, Real Estate, Health/Fitness
