Full-time, New Lab City Manager

New Lab City Manager Role
New Lab is seeking a Manager for its public-private partnerships program: New Lab City. The New Lab City Manager will report directly to the Urban Tech Hub Director who oversees New Lab City and will collaborate across the team as needed. The New Lab City Manager will support program and partnership development, implementation and special projects.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Tracking timelines, budgets and project milestones on key initiatives; problem-solving as challenges arise and keeping leadership informed and engaged as needed
  • Creating partnership cultivation tools that reflect the New Lab brand and mission including decks and written proposals
  • Streamlining data collection and analysis, documenting press stories and drafting content to inform bi-weekly, quarterly and annual reports and updates for program funders
  • Engaging and building trust with member companies in order to connect them with appropriate opportunities to take part in New Lab City initiatives
  • Identifying relevant startups, government agencies, universities, businesses and community organizations outside of the existing New Lab network who would be interested in New Lab City programs and helping to create strategies for outreach
  • Working with New Lab’s Events & Marketing/Communications teams to support events and relevant communications efforts
  • Drafting contract agreements and tracking revisions to ensure consultants, supporters and partners are onboarded in a timely manner
  • Support the Urban Tech Hub Director on developing new partnerships and overseeing special projects, research and workshop development as needed
  • Maintaining organization of files and shared documents across Google Drive
  • Attending relevant industry events as a New Lab representative to stay informed on topics related to urban tech, smart cities and public-private partnerships

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • 3-5 years full-time professional experience or the equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Project Management experience with demonstrated ability to build strategies that take into account the demands of multiple stakeholders to keep projects on time, on budget and ensure quality of all deliverables
  • Experience with budget tracking and quantitative evaluation metrics
  • Familiarity with Google’s business tools (docs, team drives, sheets etc)
  • Proficiency with Excel and Keynote
  • Experience working for or with government helpful but not required

  • Deep appreciation for public-private partnerships and knowledge of how to bring partners together to achieve impact greater than what one entity is capable of on its own; intuitive understanding of how to build opportunities that will engage partner’s strengths and fulfill their top priorities
  • Enterprising and self-directed with the desire to contribute to the team and overall organizational vision and business
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and focused on deliverables; able to manage deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Adept at working both collaboratively and independently and managing cross-functional teams (across and up)
  • Excellent communications skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas in writing and in person
  • Passionate about  technology, innovation, cities, social impact
