Full-time, Design Technician
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Design Technician for the The Department of Art & Design, Mason Gross School of the Arts. The Design Tech will be a participatory member in the Design Area, working alongside faculty, staff and students to help integrate digital technologies into the curriculum.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Communicates with the director of computer services on specific curricular needs, hardware, software that relates to design practice.
- Maintains and operates physical computing materials.
- Maintains online servers for student use.
- Guides students using digital equipment for gallery installations.
- Technically manages and coordinates the online publications of the Design program.
- Archives and publishes design student work.
- Troubleshoots and organizes demos for various hardware and software.
- Advises junior, senior and graduate design students on how to achieve their production goals.
