Looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, friendly person to assist with the project management and publicity of Rachel Zucker’s SoundMachine, an audio project, which is a separate but related iteration of Rachel Zucker’s forthcoming book from Wave Books, of the same name.
The ideal candidate will:

Have a sound knowledge of and passion for contemporary American poetry

Have experience with social media management including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
-
Be familiar with Slack, Hootsuite, and Google Docs
-
Have website management experience using a development platform such as WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix
-
Be skilled in event coordination
-
Be congenial, flexible, curious, ethical and kind
-
Have excellent communication skills
-
Have basic computer literacy
-
Extra attention given to applicants proficient in Photoshop, podcasting, and sound editing
Job responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Developing and maintaining an overall schedule and budget for the project

Publicity for the project through SoundMachine newsletter

Social media management
-
Posting audio to SoundCloud and/or podcast rss feed

Maintaining SoundMachine website and updating when necessary
-
Book tour planning and organization
-
Email correspondence
-
Other SoundMachine related tasks, as they arise
The right person would be available to start immediately and commit to 7–10 hours a week. This is an independent contractor position at $25/hour. If the fit is good and depending on availability and interest, this job has the potential to expand to include tasks related to Commonplace and publicity and organization of readings and events for Rachel’s other books.
