CALL: Heidi Latsky Dance, Call for Collaboration

CALL FOR COLLABORATION

Heidi Latsky Dance, NYC’s largest and most diverse physically integrated dance company, is
looking for a consortium of partners to create virtual reality technology for their future
mainstream show, D.I.S.P.L.A.Y.E.D, which is expected to debut in New York City within the
next two years. Within this show will be an installation, Suspended Disbelief, portraying aerialist
and double amputee, Erin Ball, moving up and down her silks towards her suspended
wheelchair. With the need to create a VR version of Ball’s movement, Latsky’s vision is that the
space remains empty until the VR glasses are put and revealing this aerial work.
HLD utilizes the diversity of her company members, both disabled and non-disabled, to uphold
democracy and emphasize the importance of the individual. Through performance and discourse,
incorporating mediums like film, technology, art, and fashion, Latsky is an advocate for
disability rights, through partnerships with Dance/NYC’s Disability Task Force and the Mayor’s
Office for People with Disabilities.

If this collaboration is of interest to you, please contact Alexa Annese through
