Introduction to the basic concepts of computer programming for visual artists including variables, functions, and data structures though projects dealing with image processing, animation, and text manipulation. The course assumes no prior programming knowledge and presents the concepts in a manner that is accessible to everyone. Development of problem solving skills is emphasized. Prereq: ART 29526 Computer Imaging and Illustration or 29530 Digital Photography 1 or permission of instructor.

User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design for native mobile apps. Students will research, design, prototype and test apps, exploring the role of research, creating mockups, user pathway, workflow and other documentation. This course can be taken independently of Art 39544 Design for UX/UI and will focus exclusively on mobile devices. Prereqs are: Art 39510 Electronic Design I and 39540 Web Design 1.
