The First Unitarian Congregational Society in Brooklyn (FUUB) is a joyful, caring, religious community that inspires and empowers people to grow spiritually, care for one another, and work for justice and stewardship of the earth.
FUUB is preparing to transition from online-only religious services to on-site services in our historic, nineteenth century sanctuary. We intend to offer accompanying online services beginning September 12, 2021. The videographer will be essential to optimizing the experience of online viewers while assuring minimal impact on the experience of those attending live services.
Responsibilities:
The livestream producer will be working with the minister, director of music and volunteers from the congregation and reporting to the chair of the online services team.
The livestream producer will work with the online services team to develop and follow a script to capture critical portions of the worship service including processionals, preaching, live music from both the front of the sanctuary and from the choir loft, and the participation of the congregation in all portions of the service.
The livestream producer will be responsible for live-editing and uploading streaming Sunday services via OBS Studio on a Windows workstation, monitoring, and controlling three fixed-position Pan-Tilt-Zoom cameras and four to six audio channels. Most scenarios will be present requiring only appropriate switching between scenes, but custom camera, audio control and slide development will be required.
Further, the livestream producer will be expected to maintain video equipment and live streaming hardware and software to ensure readiness and proper functioning of equipment and keep reliable records for purchases, repairs, and licensing.
Required Qualifications:
Course work, degree or experience in live-editing video production or game streaming.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge of current and emerging videography technologies.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
Ability to work on Sundays from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Ability to work remotely one additional hour each week, at anytime between Thursday after 5pm and Sunday up until 10am.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with the procedures of a worship service
Comfort with and consideration of large groups of people assembled for a worship service
Pay:
$25 per hour for a total of $100 per week.
