JOB: Agency Producer, Magnum


MAGNUM: 

Magnum represents some of the world’s most renowned photographers,  maintaining its founding ideals and idiosyncratic mix of journalism, art and  storytelling. Magnum photographers share a vision to chronicle world events,  people, places and culture with a powerful narrative that defies convention,  shatters the status quo, redefines history and transforms lives. Magnum  photographers are a rarity and the agency is self-selecting, with a 4 year long  process. The membership has evolved over the years to encompass the work  of almost 100 diverse photographers. 

We have offices in New York, London, and Paris, and work with press,  publishers, advertising, television, galleries and museums across the world.  We have a traveling roster of over 100 exhibitions, education initiatives focused  on the next generation of visual storytellers, an ecommerce platform, and an  editorial platform telling stories across art, culture, news and photography to  our audience of over 5.5 million. 

ABOUT THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a Agency Producer to work closely with the Partnerships  team (Assignments + Licensing), photographers and assistants to manage and  execute pitches and projects for a variety of clients (commercial and editorial). 

This role would not only own the Commercial and Editorial production but also  dip into various functions to take on discrete responsibilities across cultural,  education and digital partnerships, as needed to move projects and delivery  forward. 

PRODUCTION 

– Manage production requirements for photo shoot projects: 

Confirm all details of shoot/projects are covered in the  

pre-production process whenever possible to ensure a  

smooth shoot (photographer equipment needs, travel,  

permissions,access, etc.) 

Manage workflow and maintain budgets and estimates for  photo shoots/projects 

Coordinate times and dates for shoots and licensing  

requests/projects; identify andmanage external production  partners when necessary, and when budget will allow 

– Keep track of fulfilled assignments after they have been  shot – manage embargoes, pub dates, payments, billing, etc. 

Manage traffic; download and transfer completed jobs and files  to clients 

Magnum agency point of contact for production and  

postproduction process for both photographers and  

production partners 

Make sure the production team uploads files and they have  the correct caption/restriction/embargo info. to upload on pro  site and to ensure that all assignment related documents are correctly archived 

– Liaise with photographer representatives and photographers to  ensure smooth departmental billing process 

Filter photographer and third party queries regarding payment — work with finance team to coordinate payment 

Coordinate projects account payable and receivable 

Submit invoices per individual, proprietary company specifications Keep a record of pitches and billed assignments in Airtable 

– Coordinate the Partnerships marketing tools 

Coordinate with digital team to get new/relevant content up on  MP social channels and keep the creative website updated

– Exceptionally organized with a keen eye for detail – Able to adapt quickly to changing priorities, multitasking or last  minute projects 

– Forward thinking and able to easily ‘connect the dots’ so that the  ripple effect of certain actions and decisions is obvious ahead of  time 

– An excellent relationship builder with strong negotiation and  communication skills—you enjoy networking and getting to know  team members and partners 

– Naturally inquisitive, deliberate, and collaborative team player,  which makes you open and eager to engage with feedback 

– An entrepreneurial self-starter with go-getter attitude and a positive  and upbeat nature 

– Able to bring structure to creative discussions and translate these  discussions into measurable tasks and project plans 

– Based in New York City 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: 

– 2+ years of production experience, ideally in photography or  advertising agency 

– Experience with process analysis and improvement 

– Experience developing and managing internal (up, across and  down) and external relationships 

– Proficient across Airtable, Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets etc),  Slack and PM software (Asana) 

– French speaking in addition to English a plus
