JOB: Theater Mitu Hybrid Arts Lab Fellowship Opportunity

My name is Monica Sanborn and I am writing on behalf of Theater Mitu, to share some information with you about our Hybrid Arts Lab.

We are currently holding an open call for applications and thought you and your organization might be interested in helping us spread the word to interested artists in your community. Your interactive telecommunications/media arts programs are remarkable and we hope this fellowship might be a great resource to some of your alumni.

The Hybrid Arts Lab is a program supporting trans, non-binary, and women artists working at the intersection of performance and technology. 2022 marks our third annual Hybrid Arts Lab and thanks to the generous support of New York Community Trust’s Van Lier Fellowship Program, we will convene a cohort of 3 artists for ten months this year.

With a focus on early career BIPOC artists, this program offers creation and exhibition space, technical resources, training, and mentorship to a small cohort for the exploration, development, and expansion of their practice and new artwork.

This support includes: a $5,000 unrestricted stipend; two dedicated weeks of space, equipment, and technology at MITU580; mentorship and guidance from Founding Artistic Director Rubén Polendo; training and classes with guest artists in creative uses of hardware and software tools for art-making; and space and resources for a series of in-process showings from the cohort of fellows.

More detailed information on the fellowship can be found here: https://theatermitu.org/programs/hybrid-arts-lab/ and applications for this year’s fellowship are NOW OPEN! Would you be willing to help us spread the word to your community and alumni?

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out! Thank you so much for helping us get the word out about our fellowship.

Best,

Monica Sanborn
