JOB: Analyst at LDV Capital

We at LDV Capital are looking for 1-2 Analysts based in NYC to join our team. Analysts will help us identify, analyze and evaluate teams to invest in.

Join us as a significant team player, contributing across all aspects of our deep tech venture fund, including sourcing, performing market research, and conducting due diligence on investment opportunities. Additionally, you will support our portfolio companies and foster valuable relationships within the visual tech & AI ecosystem as well as contribute to continually strengthening our global brand, reputation and platform.

We are looking for people who share our enthusiasm for innovation and empowering entrepreneurs in the earliest days of their businesses. We are looking for someone who is intellectually curious, has strong analytical and communication skills. We are open to candidates ranging from recent college graduates to candidates with a graduate degree and 1+ years relevant work experience. It is definitely a plus if you have technical knowledge in computer vision, machine learning and artificial intelligence.

About The Role & Responsibilities:

  • This role is based in NYC and has an initial duration period of 2 years, with the potential for extension or promotion.

  • Source New Investment Opportunities: Proactively discover investment opportunities that align with our thesis.

  • Market Research: Dive into different verticals and markets to identify emerging visual technology trends, competitive landscapes and potential investment opportunities.

  • Due Diligence: Conduct thorough research on potential investment opportunities, including competitive analysis, risk evaluations, reference checks.

  • Cultivate relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts and other stakeholders to stay informed about potential investment opportunities.

  • Collaborate on reports and presentations like quarterly updates on new visual tech market insights and trends.

  • Work with LDV’s portfolio companies, including but not limited to, research projects, competitor analysis, valuation work, and attend board meetings.

  • Brainstorm and execute self-directed projects that contribute to the success of LDV Capital or our portfolio companies.

The Requirements:

  • Detail oriented.

  • Effective communicator.

  • Knowledge and interest in the technology ecosystem (bonus – understanding of visual tech and AI). You can understand and talk credibly about tech innovations with entrepreneurs and investors.

  • A genuine passion for technology and startups, an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to learn.

  • Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, allowing for effective execution and decision making skills in a dynamic work environment.

  • Exhibit a strong understanding of numerical data, which will empower you to source market figures and apply analysis to assess the potential target market for diverse business opportunities.

  • Adept communicator with a network of individuals who think highly of you – you’ll frequently engage with entrepreneurs and investors on behalf of LDV.

  • Ability to prioritize and maintain attention to detail in time sensitive situations.

  • Proactive mindset with the capacity to work independently and manage your time effectively.  You will be expected to identify and execute on opportunities to contribute to the team with little, if any, management or direction.

  • Digital dexterity – comfortable working with online tools.

  • Comfortable collaborating virtually with an option for you to work full-time in our NYC office.

  • Must have authorization to work in the US.

  • Live or planning to relocate to NYC.

  • Entrepreneurial/operating experience.

Bonus:

  • Prior computer vision, machine learning or programming experience

  • Experience in Life Sciences, Neuroscience or Biotechnology
