George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) Summer Impact Program

The George Kaiser Family Foundation (GKFF) Summer Impact Program provides a unique opportunity for interns to learn from some of Tulsa’s most effective community organizations, while gaining exposure to the intersection of policy, philanthropy, business, and community engagement. This blend of on-the-ground work and big picture context provides emerging professionals with a new perspective, skillset, and an accessible network of other young professionals and experienced non-profit, community, and business leaders in Tulsa.

Impact Program Overview & Responsibilities: GKFF places interns with local organizations and seeks professional, engaging, and hard-working interns to support and contribute to the work of their placement organizations. This position will be placed with NYU Tulsa – as part of the GKFF Summer Impact Program. 

The NYU Tulsa Messaging and Outreach Intern is a student position designed to support the launch of NYU Tulsa, in collaboration with the Office of Global Programs at NYU’s campus in New York. The NYU Tulsa Media Production and Outreach Intern will work directly with the NYU Tulsa Program Director (in person) and the OGP Student Outreach Team (remotely) as a student-facing content generator for NYU Tulsa on the web (www.nyu.edu/tulsa), Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. The NYU Tulsa Media Production and Outreach Intern will enhance and develop NYU Tulsa web content to engage students and meet their information needs and interests; produce engaging video and visual content for prospective undergraduate study away students; and, where possible, capture new imagery (e.g., photos, iPhone video footage) for use in future content production. Ideal content will offer a student/young alumni perspective and will reflect on life and opportunities for NYU students in Tulsa. The NYU Tulsa Messaging and Outreach Intern will also be tasked with fostering relationships with NYU student content generators in Tulsa. 

Responsibilities may include:

  • Pitch and develop video projects with the OGP Student Outreach Team
  • Shoot video footage of events, interviews, b-roll, etc.
  • Edit footage into short-form content
  • Develop web content with the OGP Student Outreach Team
  • Design/develop graphic elements for outreach campaign 

Qualifications:

  • Experience and proficiency creating/editing short videos, with sample work
  • High proficiency with editing software such as Adobe Premiere
  • Experience with Canva or similar design platforms strongly preferred to complete basic design needs to support social media content and office initiatives
  • Proficiency in front-end web development; familiarity with the Adobe AEM platform ideal
  • Knowledge of/acumen for marketing and promotion concepts

Hours and Compensation: Over the course of the 9-week internship, interns commit to working 30 – 40 hours per week. Some night and weekend work may be required. Interns must commit to working at their placement organization between May 28 – July 26, 2024. Weekly schedules will be coordinated with the organization the intern is assigned to. All interns will be paid $15.00 per hour and will be responsible for tracking and submitting their hours to the George Kaiser Family Foundation.

General Requirements:

  • Applicants must be pursuing a degree from an accredited university.
  • Applicants must be available for the full 9-week program and able to live in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the duration of their internship.
  • Applicants must be available for an interview after their application has been submitted and vetted. Interviews may take place in-person or virtually.
