CALL: Website / UX Designer (Notion) at NYU Product Management Club (PMC)

Job Title: Website / UX Designer (Notion) Organization: NYU Product Management Club (PMC)

Estimated Commitment: 5-10 hours a week for 3-4 weeks 

About NYU PMC: 

PMC is dedicated to building a community at NYU by connecting students interested in the intersection of design, business, and engineering. We strive to provide resources, mentorship, and workshops to equip budding PMs with the skills to tackle diverse problems faced by businesses and consumers. 

Description: 

The NYU Product Management Club (PMC) is seeking a talented and passionate Website / UX Designer to redesign our Notion website. This opportunity is open to students of all levels, including high school, undergraduates, graduates, and PhD students, who have a background or have taken a class in UX design. This role offers an excellent chance for students to enhance their design portfolio and gain practical experience in website design within a student organization setting. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with the PMC team to understand project requirements and goals. Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform design decisions. Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for the Notion website. Ensure the website design aligns with the club’s branding and objectives. Iterate on designs based on feedback from stakeholders and users.
  • Optimize the website for usability and accessibility.

Requirements: 

  • Background or coursework in UX design.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Notion or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with user research methodologies.
  • Previous experience with website design or redesign projects.

Additional Information: 

  • This is an unpaid volunteer position.
  • The design is expected to be implemented on Notion. If proposing designs on an alternative platform, you must provide a detailed cost-benefit analysis or similar rationale.
