Our client is an exciting, early-stage startup in the AI-powered workflow / productivity tools space (think: AirTable and Trello have a baby), with very experienced, illustrious founders.
They’re looking for a temp-to-perm Senior / Lead Product Designer, based in NYC, who can do some hybrid onsite work.
Possibly open to someone who wants to do longterm freelance only.
They’ve got a 20-person team led by their awesome founders, who in turn ran their own successful and design-focused company for years. One founder has his own Wikipedia page, was one of the first-ever bloggers, and is well-known in illustrious media circles.
Their culture is fun, down to earth, friendly, and they’re all passionate about taking this company to the next level!
How they’re different than their competitors – their AI-powered template creator tool makes data and workflow management really, really easy and fun to use. Think: the immense power of enterprise software (Notion, AirTable), but made to feel intuitive and easy to use, with fun punchy visuals. You WANT to use this software, and there’s tons of different ways you can put it to good use!
The ideal candidate has:
- Startup experience
- b2b experience on enterprise software / workflow / productivity tools or similar
- you have examples of this in your portfolio
- Strong UX Design and UXR skills
- The ability to to take things through to final pixel-perfect Visual UI design, using a well flushed-out Design System

Solid strategy skills, and the ability to start prototyping and sketching ideas from scratch based on ideas generated from brainstorming meetings

Ability to work very independently without oversight much of the time
- A super collaborative, friendly personality who’s a joy to work with and make cool stuff with!
Not required but a big plus:
- Experience with Growth, Onboarding, and Retention/Engagement
- Some mentoring / light management experience
Logistics:
- Starts ASAP
- Must be currently based in the NYC area, and able to work 3x/week onsite in FiDi
- Preference is for someone to go perm eventually, but possibly open to freelance-only folks if can commit longterm
- Freelance portion will be 30-40 hours per week, during daytime work hours
- Conversion to fulltime schedule is TBD; freelance contract will renew month to month until both sides make the commitment
- Freelance: $90-120/hr via 1099, depending on experience
- Fulltime: $150-190K
