**Volvox Labs is a new media art studio.**
Driven by nature, we seamlessly fuse the digital and physical to create work that moves, inspires, and elevates the human experience.
We are a collective of media artists, designers and tinkerers – specialized in creating high end CG and real-time content for non-standard displays, composing original music and sonic identities, as well as designing and engineering complex physical installations.
All positions at Volvox Labs are in-person, working out of our studio in the lovely neighborhood of Greenpoint in Brooklyn NY.
What we’re looking for
Our Producers handle the quality, timely, and on-budget delivery of projects that combine software development, rendered and real-time content, hardware, fabrication, and installation. Ideal candidate will manage the day-to-day aspects of projects to carry projects through to successful completion from kickoff to installation.
We are looking for someone who is:
- A great communicator both verbally and written
- Is detail-oriented
- Is organized
- Generally understands the language of creative tech and fabrication
- Loves helping teams be successful and enjoys team dynamics
- Enjoys a good timeline, scope document, and budget
- Is an integrator, comfortable with guiding multiple work streams into an integrated solution
- Is self motivated yet comfortable asking for support or assistance
- Can work in the present to guide toward a singular eventuality
The candidate will report to the Director of Production and will work alongside 3D and Motion Designers, Creative Technologists, Physical Designers, and Fabricators.
Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Managing projects ranging from interactive installations, motion design, CG productions, AR/VR, gaming, audio production, and software development
- Accurately develop and manage project deliverables and production schedules, run of show, and status updates for internal leadership and clients.
- Client interfacing, management, and care under the direction of the Director of Production, CEO, or Studio Principal
- Coordinate and lead meetings for the project team
- Guide meetings and conference calls with clear and focussed agendas
- Provide administrative support to the Director of Production including note-taking, agenda development, expense reports, travel arrangements, and overall project assistance
- Support the Director of Production in managing project budgets and delivering on budget.
- Create a positive and constructive team working relationship and atmosphere
- Tracking and management of digital assets across multiple platforms
- Responsible for working closely with Technical Leads and engineers to develop and deliver post-deployment documentation.
Qualifications
- 1+ years working in a studio environment
- Working understanding of event-related permits and industry standards
- Expert skills across project management systems
- Proven experience producing and managing projects
- Ability to communicate with confidence and positivity with clients, especially under high-pressure situations
- Experience with GSuite Applications (Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc), Notion, Miro
