Seyi Adebanjo is a Sundance award winning director and filmmaker. Seyi Adebanjo, MFA, is a  Queer Gender-Non-Conforming Nigerian artist who raises awareness around social issues  through video. My current project is AFROMYSTIC a lyrical documentary film exploring Queer  and Trans Òrìṣà storytelling in Nigeria, Brazil, and the United States 

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Editing and Management Intern to support the post-production team of our documentary. This internship offers hands-on  experience with various aspects of documentary filmmaking, from editing and organizing  footage to transcribing interviews, managing media assets and post production workflow. If you  have a passion for storytelling, the LGBTQ+ community, strong technical skills, and an interest in  documentary filmmaking, we would love to hear from you! 

Responsibilities: 

Transcribe interviews and other audio footage accurately to aid in ending and scriptwriting. Update Logs, ensuring all files are stored correctly and are easily accessible.  Conduct archival research; product,on-to-post workflow management;. 

Collaborate with the post-production team to address any technical or creative challenges. Provide general support with various post-production tasks, including reviewing footage,  managing ,mecodes, and handling basic editing adjustments. 

Assist with the post-production editing process, including assembling raw footage, organizing  clips,ng proxies and making preliminary edits. 

Stay up to date with project progress and par,cipate in team mee,ngs as needed. 

Requirements: 

Current student or recent graduate in Film, Media Studies, Communica,ons, Archival studies or  a related field. 

Proficiency in video editing so^ware (Adobe Premiere Pro).

Strong aaen,on to detail,cularly in transcription and organiza,onal tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong ,me-management skills. Familiarity with documentary filmmaking or a genuine interest in learning about the genre. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Knowledge of file formats and media management practices. 

Previous experience with transcript,on or media logging is desirable but not required.
