The Masters of Professional Studies in Virtual Production at the Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center in Industry City is hiring a student technical assistant. We are seeking an organized and reliable individual with knowledge of Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Blender, and Autodesk Maya, to support daily operations at the Center and provide administrative assistance for student programming.
Title: Virtual Production Center TA
Primary Duties:
- Applications must have customer service skills . Will need to be friendly, caring, supportive, and communicative with students. Must be able to work well with others. Candidates will be working with other students, faculty and staff.
- Should have working knowledge of Virtual Production software we support. (Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Blender, Motion Capture, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Blackmagic Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud, ProTools). Must have the ability to troubleshoot computer and software issues specifically in Windows 10&11 environments, networking & wifi issues, printing, AV issues, etc.
- Must have the ability to be supportive of students in their creative process with patience and compassion.
Will learn to:
- Communicate efficiently with the diverse student population and staff
- Helping students troubleshoot Unreal and software and computer hardware issues
- Checking out computer accessories for students to use in the computer labs
- Check out camera and lighting equipment to students
- Receive checked out equipment, ensure all equipment is returned complete and in good condition, keeping track of inventory
- Setting up classrooms in various configurations for different classes
- Provide administrative help for daily operations and student programming
General Qualifications:
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Must have knowledge of Unreal Engine, Autodesk Maya, Blender, Motion Capture, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, Blackmagic Resolve, Adobe Creative Cloud, ProTools)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Detailed oriented and able to work independently as well as in groups
- Reliable/on-time and accountable for the quality of work
- Knowledgeable of and sensitive to diverse populations at NYU
Required Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate student
- Able to commit to working 10 to 20 hours per week for the summer during hours of operation: Monday to Friday 8:30am-6pm (please include availability in cover letter), with some special events occurring outside of these hours.

Evaluation: There will be a mid-year and end-of-year evaluation and weekly/bi-weekly check-ins with the position supervisor(s).
Pay rate: We will interview undergraduate students. We will hire two or three students and therefore will pay the minimum wage for the degree level as listed: Undergraduate $16.50/hr.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base salary range for student employment positions are $16.50-$18 per hour for undergraduate students and $29.00-$30 per hour for graduate students. The hourly rate for graduate employees is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 2110.
