JOB: ITP/IMA Web App Developer

Position summary:

Searching for a full-stack web developer interested in contributing to open source projects serving NYU students, faculty & staff.

Web app experience developing in Javascript and HTML/CSS is required.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Service Innovation Manager (ITP/IMA), with additional input from the Director of Operations (370J Media Commons)
  • Streamlines and translates processes based on existing needs and ad hoc solutions
  • Researches, proposes and implements frameworks for accelerated development

Preferred experience:

  • familiarity with Next.js
  • familiarity with OAuth and SSO
  • familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (AppEngine, Firestore, Log Explorer)

Minimum required skills:

  • demonstrable experience evaluating and implementing new web libraries
  • solid grasp of full-stack Javascript Web Development (Node.js, React.js)
  • solid grasp of HTML/CSS
  • GitHub and Open Source frameworks

Performance Evaluation:

ITP uses formal and structured performance evaluations throughout a student’s appointment. Students receive regular written communications that highlight expectations, performance, goals and areas for improvement. Students will meet directly with supervisors no less than two times per semester for one on one feedback.

Salary Information:

Undergraduate students will be hired at a pay rate of $21 per hour and Graduate students will be hired at a pay rate of $30.00 per hour.

**In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the hourly base salary range for student employment positions are $21 per hour for undergraduate students and $30.00 per hour for graduate students. The hourly rate for graduate employees is based on the collective bargaining agreement with Local 7902.
