The Textile Arts Center Artists in Residence is a nine-month program that combines studio access with a rigorous interdisciplinary curriculum and regular critical dialogue, providing residents an opportunity to learn and explore the textile medium, and an alternative to traditional higher education programs. The residency culminates in a group exhibition produced and hosted by TAC.
TAC AIR Program Provides:
- Individual studio space
- 24-hour access to Textile Arts Center studio and equipment
- Hands-on technical workshops (i.e. weaving, felting, machine knitting, natural dyeing and surface design)
- Lectures in textile history and professional development (textile conservation, grant writing, art law, gallery relations)
- Weekly critiques
- Culminating group exhibition
Scholarship:
The TAC AIR Scholarship Fund will support one artist or designer who demonstrates commitment to their art practice, identifies with a historically underrepresented community in the arts and states the need for financial assistance to participate in the program and advance their artistic practice.
