Join a NYC nonprofit publishing team updating major Marcel Duchamp resources in time for the historic Marcel Duchamp retrospective opening at MoMA in April 2026.
About ASRL:
Art Science Research Laboratory (ASRL) is a New York City nonprofit 501(c)(3), co-founded in 1998 by artist/art historian and retired journalist Rhonda Roland Shearer and her late husband, Stephen Jay Gould (Harvard & NYU professor, scientist, bestselling author), with founding donations from philanthropist Paul Mellon.
We have a large collection of Duchamp-related works, research results, and Dada and Surrealism ephemera.
ASRL publishes award-winning educational and scholarly projects, including:
- Tout-Fait: The Marcel Duchamp Studies Online Journal — one of the first peer-reviewed academic journals on the web (founded 1998)
- MarcelDuchamp.net — a major Duchamp resource site for scholars, students, and the public
We’re recruiting!
Interns needed in areas including: web development, art history, journalism, digital humanities, museum studies, and archival research.
We are also seeking:
- Assistant Editors
- Writers + Contributors (peer-reviewed submissions + creative/archival work)
- Tech Support + Web Developers & Designers
You’ll help with:
- Updating and organizing web content
- Uploading accepted submissions with editorial guidance
- Improving metadata/tagging and research navigation
- Supporting digital publishing workflows / basic UX improvements (a plus, not required)
