MTEC 1202 Computer Programming for Interactive Media II
MTEC 1202 is designed to develop intermediate mastery of programming for interactive media environments, with a focus on coding for creative applications. In the process of incrementally designing, implementing, and testing their own media software applications within prescribed boundaries, students advance their knowledge of object-oriented programming, algorithms, and computing techniques relevant to categories of interactive media technology targeted in the Emerging Media Technology program.
Ideally, the potential hire will have a background in computer science (Bachelor’s level is fine) and/or several years of professional software development experience, as well as some teaching experience at the college level (could be an assistantship). The course is taught in vanilla JavaScript.
Section day/time: Mondays, 2:15-5:35pm

MTEC 3200 Special Topics in Emerging Media Technology
This course presents students with specialized topics related to the field of Emerging Media Technology not otherwise covered in detail elsewhere in the curriculum. The course may address a new development in the field or a specialization or research interest of the faculty. The content of this course varies over time. Students must take the course twice, but cannot take two Special Topics courses that cover that same material.
The potential hire would propose an advanced topic that is not covered in detail in the major curriculum (see https://citytech.catalog.cuny.edu/programs/MEB-BT/requirements-psa8V). This topic should be relevant to one or more of our focus areas: game development, computer music, or experiential media.
Section day/time: Tuesdays, 2:15-5:35pm
