MARKETING SPECIALIST
We are seeking detail-oriented creative thinkers to join our New York Marketing team. Ideal candidates will have 3-6 years of experience in the A/E industry, and work comfortably with diversified teams in a fast-paced environment. The Marketing Specialist writes, designs, and produces qualifications, proposals, presentations, and other materials in alignment with firm brand standards to win work for the firm.
The Marketing Specialist brings a level of insight and strategy to new business pursuits, working with multiple principals and practice area leaders, in developing Gensler’s approach to specific clients and opportunities. The position requires an excellent communicator, problem solver and action-oriented team player. Marketing Specialists have a deep understanding of the design industry and the practice areas that Gensler works within.
Genuine curiosity and an appreciation of architecture and interior design is recommended.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3–6 years professional experience in a marketing role, preferably for an architecture and design firm or professional services firm
- Ability to manage simultaneous multiple deadlines and diverse project teams with minimal supervision
- Experience working directly with senior staff on business-critical projects with minimal supervision
- Self-motivator with strong organizational and intra-personal skills, and a great collaborator.
- Ability to provide strategic thinking and recognize competitive advantage opportunities for Gensler, leveraging these into marketing pitches.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with grammatical accuracy.
- Fluent in InDesign and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Familiarity with Photoshop and other Adobe Creative Suite software is a plus.
- Strong graphic communication and design skills are a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with principals and senior staff to produce proposals, presentations; research, design, write and produce all materials in alignment with Firmwide brand standards.
- Develop new materials to support business development activities
- Close collaboration with design practice leadership to plan and track business development efforts.
- Participate in and champion strategy/planning sessions.
- Proactively research target client’s company history, market positioning, etc. to contribute to the new business pursuit strategy
- Independently execute multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlines
- Manage scheduling, production, and delivery of marketing materials
- Master Gensler’s portfolio of work, practice areas and broad firm capabilities
- Other responsibilities as assigned
